How long do the tours last?

Day tours last 7-8 hours, this includes travel time from pick-up point to the Geopark and return.

How fit should I be for the tour?

Our tours move at a leisurely/moderate pace and level of difficulty. You do not necessarily need to be very fit but still expect a bit of walking, sometimes on uneven ground and in high temperatures!

Do I need to have any knowledge of Geology?

Our geotours are designed for participants with a range of knowledge about this fascinating and wholly captivating region of Spain. We cater for the complete beginner to the enthusiast.

Are your tours suitable for children?

Our walking trips are designed for geotourists of 13+ years.

Do I need insurance for the tour?

All participants are advised to arrange their own travel insurance, which includes walking tour activities in the Geopark (as well as reservoir kayaking for the Geokayak Tour).

What medical facilities are available?

Cimmeria Geotours Ltd can provide basic first aid during the tour. However, any other medical expenses will be borne by your insurance company. Please ensure that you bring any personal medications needed with you. Your geotours guide will have information on good hospitals and clinics in the area, should you require medical attention.

What should I bring with me?

A sense of curiosity and wonder, and your questions for exploring the geology of the landscape and the region. 


Dress for the weather! Comfortable walking shoes for trails with stones and uneven ground. Loose, light clothing suitable for high temperatures and warmer clothing for cooler days, sunscreen, sunhat, reusable water bottle.


Additionally, for the Geokayak tours we recommend: waterproof or swimming shoes, change of clothing, swimwear and towel.

Are lunch/refreshments provided?

Drinking water will be provided, but we recommend that you bring your own reusable water bottle. Any other food and drink costs are not included within the geotour price.

 

A lunch stop at a local restaurant is scheduled into the tour. Special dietary requirements a the restaurant are subject to change, so if you have any particular requirements then we suggest bringing your own lunch.

What happens when nature calls, are there toilets?

Typically, there are no toilets on the transportation. However, we plan for a bathroom break at least every three hours.

Can I make my own way to the start or end points of the geotour?

Of course, just let us know in advance and we can provide further information on meeting points.

What is your cancellation policy?

Should you need to cancel, we can reschedule your walk or offer a full refund up to one week prior to your booking. 
Cancellations initiated by Cimmeria Geotours Ltd. due to circumstances beyond our control (i.e. unexpected weather conditions, natural disaster, global crisis, pandemic) will be offered a rebooking for another date. We cannot offer refunds for no-shows or group members who fail to turn up for the scheduled walking tour.
